In the culture of any country national clothes play an important role. Through national costume you can learn the history of the country, its traditions passing across the generations, and elements of national folklore. It gives you a brilliant chance to explore the soul of the country.  

More then ten years the founders of the Museum of Russian Costume traveled throughout the country to gather the tiny pieces of unique history of our people mirrored in traditional clothes. As a result of this long search there appeared a unique collection represented in the Museum. Most of the exhibits date back to the 19^th century. Besides, there is also a part of the collection dedicated to the war theme and the way of life in the 20^th century. There is also an interesting collection of New-Year tree decorations of the previous century when the Russian people restarted to celebrate the New-Year in 1936.
